Dr Kiasha Govender

Dr Kiasha Govender is a highly respected dermatologist in Umhlanga and Durban, known for her evidence-based approach to both medical and aesthetic dermatology. With a strong academic background and years of clinical experience, she provides individualized care for patients seeking healthy, radiant skin.

She is a specialist dermatologist focusing on the achievement of healthy, beautiful skin by utilizing the best in medical treatment and skincare. 

She completed her undergraduate medical degree at the Nelson R Mandela School of Medicine in Natal, graduating summa cum laude as the top graduate in her class; finishing not only top of her medical school class in her final year, but also as the top student cumulatively over her 6 years of study.

She spent time in the Department of Dermatology at King Edward VIII Hospital in Durban before embarking on her registrar training at the Department of Dermatology at the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg. During her postgraduate training she worked at Chris Hani Baragwanath, Johannesburg General and Helen Joseph Hospitals in Gauteng.

After leaving the public sector she was fortunate to train and work at two prestigious dermatological laser and medical centres in Johannesburg, where she developed an interest in laser and aesthetic medicine. She achieved a certificate in aesthetic medicine in 2011 from the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine and attained a diploma in aesthetic medicine from the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine in 2012.

She has since gone on to obtain a Masters in Medicine focusing on the impact of atopic eczema on the quality of life of children and their families, with her thesis passing with distinction.

Dr Govenders expertise has been sought by industry, academic institutions and various publications seeing her publishing extensively in academic journals and textbooks.

As a practicing dermatologist in Durban and Umhlanga, Dr Govender is passionate about helping patients achieve optimal skin health. She has a special interest in chronic skin conditions such as atopic eczema, psoriasis, and acne. Her holistic treatment plans combine medical therapies, patient-specific skincare, and advanced aesthetic procedures to enhance skin quality and confidence.
