What is the difference between the original Clear + Brilliant® and the Clear + Brilliant® Permea™?
Each of the Clear + Brilliant laser treatment offerings is a unique innovation. The Clear + Brilliant Permea laser treatment offers visible enhancements in tone and radiance, while the original Clear + Brilliant laser treatment is optimized to improve your skin’s texture. During a consultation, your physician can help you decide which is best for you.
What does the Clear + Brilliant® procedure feel like?
Most patients describe a prickling sensation as the device is guided over their skin during the treatment.
For the original Clear + Brilliant laser treatment: Topical anesthetic ointment may be applied before the procedure. A session typically takes about 30 minutes and is followed by cooling, which typically takes about 10-15 minutes.
For the Clear + Brilliant Permea laser treatment: Topical anesthetics are not required. Topical skincare products such as antioxidants that complement the treatment may be applied to the skin afterward. This allows for enhanced skin permeability, improving overall results and helping address specific skin concerns such as tone and texture.

What will I look like immediately after the procedure?
Clear + Brilliant laser treatments are very gentle, and the typical side effects are mild. Some patients experience mild redness and subtle inflammation immediately after the treatment. These effects generally resolve within a few hours, but in rare cases, they may linger slightly longer. You can use makeup to cover any temporary redness.
